ACCESS TO A FAMILY DOCTOR NEGOTIATED
In the last round of bargaining, PSAC Local 901 gained access to a Family Doctor for Postdocs and their families via the Queen’s Family Health Team (QFHT) clinic located at 220 Bagot Street and 115 Clarence Street. This program is intended for Postdocs who do not already have a Family Doctor in Kingston. As of October 13, 2023 Queen’s has cancelled Postdocs’ access to QFHT.
IMPROVED HEALTH AND DENTAL BENEFITS
Our union has ensured that Postdocs receive health and dental benefits.
CHILDCARE BENEFITS
In 2017, for the first time in Canadian history, Postdocs negotiated and won Childcare Benefits in their union contract. Applications for reimbursement and supporting documents must be submitted to the Queen’s Human Resources Department Annually by February 1 following the benefit year in which the eligible childcare expense(s) were incurred.
