Annual General Meetings (AGM) & Special General Meetings (SGMs)

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in late March or early April each year and all members in good standing, staff, and officers of the Local are encouraged to attend. All members in good standing are entitled to vote on any motion at an AGM. The AGM is where the membership elects the Executive Committee, and other key decisions are made. Members will receive information about the AGM from the Information Officer via email in advance.

Special General Meetings (SGMs) can be called at any time by the Executive Committee, Bargaining Teams, at General Meetings, or when a written petition signed by a minimum of 40 members is presented to the Executive Committee. More information about AGMs, SGMs, and other Local structure and decision making procedures including Composite Local 2 General Meetings (for Unit 2) can be found in the Bylaws.
