Notice of Special General Meeting (SGM):

On October 28th, our Chief Returning Officer (CRO) sent out a call for nominations for the Equity Officer position. As per the Bylaws, if more than one nominee is received in the event of a vacancy election, the CRO will notify the President and they will call an SGM for the purposes of conducting an election.*
As more than one nomination has been received, I am calling an SGM to take place on Friday, December 5th, at 5PM in Robert Sutherland Hall, room 202. The purpose of this meeting will be to elect our new Equity Officer.
Your Information Officer will follow up shortly with full instructions about registration, an abridged agenda, and the SGM voting process. Please note that if you have not yet nominated yourself for Equity Officer but would like to, feel free to send your nomination to idorenyin.williams01@gmail.
The last day to nominate for this position ahead of the SGM will be November 17th. However, you are welcome to nominate at the SGM from the floor during the election process.

Bylaws Information:
*6.6.4 (3): “[I]f the Chief Returning Officer receives one or more additional nominations for some Office that is normally elected at the AGM other than the Office of President after issuing a Call for Nominations under 6.6.4 (1), then the Chief Returning Officer shall request that the President call a General Meeting for the purposes of holding an election”(32).
