Call Out: PSAC National Indigenous People’s Circle Course


“Our Communities, Our Union, Our Rights”:
An introduction to the PSAC for Indigenous Members

This fall, PSAC is holding a PSAC National Indigenous People’s Circle (NIPC) course for Aboriginal, Inuit and Métis PSAC Ontario members on October 27th and 28th, 2018 in Thunder Bay, ON. See call out letter here.

The NIPC course is for members who have had little or no exposure to their union and would like to learn more about it.  During the course participants will learn:

  • the role of the union in advancing Indigenous rights in the workplace, the union, and our communities;
  • resources and decision-making in the PSAC;
  • how to become more active in the PSAC through local, regional and national structures.
    Participants will have the opportunity to meet and work with PSAC members from the Ontario region, including Sister Sheila Karasiewicz, Indigenous Members Representative on the PSAC Ontario Region Council, and Brother Peter Cloidt, Ontario Male Representative on the PSAC’s National Indigenous Peoples Circle.
