On Tuesday, January 22, Queen’s students and PSAC members gathered on the corner of University St. and Union St. to protest the cutbacks to OSAP made by the Ontario Conservative Government.
“The Ontario Conservative government has launched a reckless attack on all workers and post-secondary students with cuts to OSAP funding grants and student unions’ ability to service members. Premier Ford will eliminate free tuition for low-income students preventing the most precarious from opportunities to improve their training. The headline grabbing 10% cut to tuition fees is too-good-to-be-true and like the buck-a-beer headlines is an eye-catching scheme to dodge the real news that the quality of Ontario education just got much worse.” – Craig Berggold, PSAC 901
