Research Assistant Bargaining Team Continues
Negotiations on the Definition & Scope of Research Assistant Work at Queen’s
Greetings Research Assistants,
On August 21st, 2018 your elected RA Bargaining Team met with the Employer’s Bargaining Team for our third meeting in our efforts to negotiate a first RA contract. With the aid of PSAC negotiator Mathieu Brûlé, and PSAC research officer Silja Freitag, we recounted the working experiences of our members and described the scope of current RA contracts to ensure that the definition of Research Assistant employee work encompasses the current and past practices at Queen’s. The two sides also exchanged revised proposals for a Research Assistant Form similar to a contract that would outline and describe RA employee duties and hours.
Your elected Research Assistant Bargaining Team is:
- Craig Berggold (President, PSAC Local 901 – Cultural Studies)
- Suhaylah Sequeira (Vice President Research Assistants, PSAC Local 901 – Chemistry)
- Marshall Timmermans (Chemistry)
Our next meeting with the employer will take place on October 10, 2018.
If you would like to get involved with PSAC Local 901, have any questions or concerns about this bargaining process or about your current working conditions, please send an email to [email protected]
Your Research Assistant Bargaining Team,
Suhaylah, Craig, Marshall and Mathieu
