Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows are entitled to retroactive pay, as outlined in the new Unit 1 Collective Agreement.
If you were employed as a Graduate TA or TF on or after September 1, 2017, you are eligible to receive a retroactive payment based on the agreement of the University and PSAC to renew their Collective Agreement for Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows. Wage and Stipend rates increased by 1% effective May 1, 2017. Accordingly, you should receive with your March 2018 pay a retroactive amount equal to 1% of your eligible Graduate TA/TF earnings in the period May 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018. In addition, because of another amendment of the Collective Agreement, you will receive a retroactive payment, in lieu of benefits, equal to 3% of your eligible Graduate TA or TF earnings in the same period.
