Bargaining Team Reaches a Tentative Agreement

THE PSAC LOCAL 901 UNIT 1 BARGAINING TEAM REPORT

TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED ON A FOUR YEAR CONTRACT.  

Greetings Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows,

 

After several months of bargaining with the Employer, your elected Bargaining Team has finally reached a tentative agreement. Some highlights of the agreement are:

·       1% wage increase starting May 1st, 2017, then

×        1.25% May 2018

×        1.5%, May 2019

×        1.75%. May 2020

·       additional 3% pay in lieu of Benefits

·       retroactive pay and benefits to all employed on September 30th 2017

·    all university-wide mandated training will be paid in addition to the TA & TF contract (approx. 5-hours)

·       new protection for whistleblowing for TAs and TFs

·       9 hours of paid sick leave

·       No Discrimination/No Harassment/No Violence article

The tentative agreement will only take effect upon the members’ successful vote to ratify. The full agreement will be included in the member ratification kit, to be distributed in early January.
